What The Fund Is Achieving

The Chicago Public Education Fund accelerates student achievement in Chicago's traditional and charter public schools by building high–performing teams of principals and teachers, improving evaluation and accountability systemwide, and reinventing classrooms with the innovative use of time, technology and talent.

Investment Funds and Goals

Consistent with our venture capital model, The Fund raises a series of funds every four years and focuses on a set of clearly defined initiatives. After each fund, we evaluate impact and results and offer to the board to close our doors if there is not a social return on their investment. The Fund's current investment fund, its third and most ambitious fund to date, leverages the strong track record of success in Funds I and II. Fund I established a high bar of quality for leadership, and Fund II embedded high–quality leaders throughout the district. Fund III will elevate the performance of exceptional leadership, encourage more effective teaching, and promote innovative use of time and technology in classrooms. More Info

What The Fund Is Achieving

The Chicago Public Education Fund not only recognizes a collective sense of impatience with the pace of change in our schools. We use it to our advantage. Our investors demand results, and fast. With each four–year investment fund, The Fund lays out specific, often quantifiable goals, holding ourselves and the school system to account for achieving them. Our goals are narrowly defined but ambitious, keeping us focused on what we do best – human capital – and excelling at it. More Info
