As Development Associate for The Fund, Emily is responsible for building relationships with The Fund’s partners in the community and supporting the development of grant reports and proposals, which enable The Fund to continue progress toward its vision for education leadership in Chicago.
Prior to joining The Fund, Emily served as a Teach For America corps member, teaching writing to seventh and eighth grade students in a high-need area of Indianapolis, her home town. In that role, she built her leadership capacity as the Department Head of the ELA Professional Learning Community and explored new neuroscience-based methods of learning with her students. She simultaneously earned her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Marian University.
Emily graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, a certificate from the Kelley School of Business, and minors in French and Psychology. She enjoys reading, traveling and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
