In her role, Esther manages The Fund’s direct-to-educator programs – the Summer Design Program, Educator Advisory Committee, and Professional Learning Communities – supporting Chicago educators with unique professional development opportunities and leveraging their expertise across schools.

Her passion for education first took off in Asia, where she taught and developed ESL programs at elite high schools in South Korea and China. After five years abroad, Esther chose to focus her career on taking measurable steps to make a positive and meaningful impact in her hometown of Chicago. Previously, she worked at 826CHI, providing strategic data support to increase equity of access to high-quality arts education programs in Chicago. She also mentors 1st-generation college students on their college applications every year.

Esther graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. She is earning a Data and Evaluation Certificate through Ingenuity in Chicago. When she’s not conversing with principals and teachers, Esther likes to listen to political podcasts, run along the lakefront, and visit museums.
