Manager, Development & Communications
In her role, Chicagoland native Lauren B. Rapp combines her passions for education and communications by managing The Fund’s development and communications work. Among her responsibilities, Lauren leads The Fund’s communications strategy and initiatives, oversees the grants process and the Fund 4 Action Plan, manages the social media strategy, platforms and website, and serves as the organization’s lead copy editor.
Lauren joined The Fund after serving as a fellow through Leadership for Educational Equity and providing instrumental support in a number of Fund 4-related initiatives. Previously, Lauren served as a teacher for five years, including two years in Chicago Public Schools as a Teach For America early childhood corps member. Prior to her work in education, Lauren supported the Corporate Crisis and Issues group at the global headquarters of Weber Shandwick, the world’s largest public relations firm.
Lauren is a member of Pulse, the Young Professionals Board for the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University and completed the Illinois Teaching Certification Program through her coursework at Dominican University’s Graduate School of Education.
She is a formally-trained dancer who now enjoys reading, writing, traveling and supporting Indiana University athletics. She is married to John T. Rapp, who works for the Knall/Cohen Group and in private wealth management in Indianapolis. They have one daughter – Elizabeth.
