About Linnea Garrett

Linnea Garrett is currently the School Director of Chicago Tech Academy High School (ChiTech).  She was recently accepted into the Deeper Learning Equity Fellowship.  This program supports school leaders in access to the tools necessary to enhance their skills to strive toward high quality deeper learning opportunities for every child, particularly those students who come from underserved areas.

Linnea previously was a Resident Principal in the Chicago Leadership Collaborative as a New Leaders for New Schools cohort member.  Prior to her school leadership work, Linnea was an Instructional Support Specialist for the West Side High School Network and a Teaching and Learning Specialist with the Office of School Improvement.  Linnea was a science teacher at both Julian High School and Harper High School.  Linnea has her Master’s in Educational Leadership and her Master of Arts in Teaching following her year in the Americorps Program, City Year. She earned her BA in Biology from Wittenberg University.

 

She is thrilled to join the EAC to work with like-minded individuals who are committed to changing the life experiences of youth by providing opportunities that are not afforded to all students.
