Susan (Sue) Fila is Regional Vice President for Ombudsman Educational Services, a Chicago Public Schools (CPS) options schools partner that helps students who have dropped out of high school graduate with a CPS diploma. She believes educating students in an options school requires strong relationships, engaging academics, support services, community partnerships and dedicated caring educators.
She also serves on the CPS Workforce Development Committee.
An experienced educator and educational leader, Sue has worked with Ombudsman teams nationwide for 17 years. She is responsible for providing leadership, quality assurance, managerial and administrative support to all Ombudsman programs in Illinois and Tennessee, and she has led Ombudsman’s accreditation process. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Pennsylvania State University and is a School Improvement Specialist.
Sue is excited about the opportunity to serve on the Educator Advisory Committee and collaborate with other educators to enhance the educational experience for students in Chicago, improve student outcomes and help ensure everyone has a path for success.
