Terrycita is currently the principal at Arthur Dixon Elementary School, where she taught for 7 years and was the assistant principal for the last 10 years. She is a proud Chicago Public School graduate from both elementary and high school. This is her second year as the principal and she enjoys giving back to her community.
She began her career as a special education teacher over 18 years ago. She taught in both a self-contained and resource setting to students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. She was recognized for her commitment to her students as Teacher of the Year at Dixon Elementary. She became an instructional leader due to her passion to advocate for the rights of children.
She joins the EAC to both share and receive knowledge through collaboration with other educators. Knowing that her voice and ideas will help improve CPS motivates her to be a part of such an established council. Ultimately, she wants to be a voice for children.
