Supporting Great Principals

Like all leaders, principals operate in a unique context and have individual career aspirations. In Chicago, the supports for leaders have not always been sufficiently differentiated to meet those needs.

In 2015, half of all principals surveyed rated their in-role professional development as poor or fair. To help respond to principal needs, The Fund and our partners offer a range of supports and regularly revisit and evolve programmatic offerings based on principal desire (feedback).

Our two signature programs, Summer Design Program and Professional Learning Communities, engage principals in collaborative settings where they can learn with their peers or their teams and from one another.
