Stuart Lucas

Co-Managing Partner, Wealth Strategist Partners, LLC

Stuart has worked as an investment professional for over 30 years. Stuart is the founder and co-managing partner of Wealth Strategist Partners, which advises exceptional families across their business, financial, and cultural dimensions.

Previously, Stuart was the Senior Managing Director of the Ultra-High Net Worth Group within Private Client Services at Bank One (now JP Morgan Chase), General Manager of European operations of Wellington Management Company, and Assistant Portfolio Manager of a Forbes Honor Roll mutual fund.

Stuart designed and directs the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Private Wealth Management continuing education program. He is the author of two books, Wealth: Grow It and Protect It (FT Press 2006, 2013) and The Taxable Investor’s Manifesto (Wiley, 2020) and numerous articles on investing and wealth management.  He is a sought after speaker and advisor on the topics of family enterprise strategy and taxable investing by families and professional organizations around the world.

Stuart previously served as Chairman of the Investment Committee of National Public Radio and is a board member of the NPR Foundation. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Board and co-chairs the investment committee of the Stuart Foundation, a $600 million foundation dedicated to improving public education in California and Washington State.

In addition to his role on The Chicago Public Education Fund’s Board of Directors, Stuart serves on the organization’s Governance, Operations, Finance and Audit committee.

Stuart has a B.A. with high honors from Dartmouth College, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He and his wife, Susan, have three children and live in Chicago.
