Lauren Marut

As a Summer Engagement Fellow, Lauren supports the Engagement team primarily by profiling Chicago public school principals and administrators to produce content for the Fund’s blog.

As a student deeply impacted by performing arts opportunities growing up, Lauren is especially passionate about increasing arts accessibility and outreach, and hopes to return to Chicago post-grad to work on education reform and bolster support for local enrichment initiatives.

Lauren is a recently graduated alumna of Chicago Public Schools having formerly attended Lane Tech College Prep and is currently a rising sophomore at Yale University double majoring in Theatre and Performance Studies and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration. In her spare time, she can be found playing piano, Netflix bingeing, or reading books for school.

Rashida earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Hampton University and a Master of Arts in Public Relations from Full Sail University in Florida. She enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends and volunteering.

Invest in Chicago's Principals

Principals have an out-sized impact on their schools and communities. Any amount can make a difference.

Support Our Work

We aim to serve more than 600 principals and 360,000 students by 2023, with an emphasis on the schools that most need support.

Celebrate School Leaders

Every October, school communities, city officials and corporate leaders join together to lift up the great work of principals and their APs.
