Erin has served as the principal at William H Prescott Elementary School (Prescott) for nine years. Currently, Prescott has the highest quality rating awarded by the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). The school was locally recognized as the 14th best public school by Chicago Magazine in September 2016 and its students scored in the top ten percent nationally in both reading and math on the NWEA in 2017.
Prior to his role as principal, Erin was a National Board Certified teacher and conducted his doctoral dissertation through the Fulbright-Hayes seminar on Latino Literature. Erin holds his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and elementary education from Knox College, master’s degree in teaching from the University of Illinois at Chicago and doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University.
Erin loves to help schools and districts improve positive impact on children. Currently, he sits on two Boards: the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy and the Green Star Movement. He also serves on the Data & Research Panel at Ingenuity, which works to increase access, equity and quality of the arts for all students in CPS.
As principal, Erin has earned several recognitions for his work including participating in the Chicago Principals Fellowship in 2016-17 and The Chicago Public Education Fund’s Educator Advisory Committee in 2015-16.
Erin is married to a terrific wife, Paula, and dad to three magical children–Connor, Lauren, and Jameson!
