Jill M. Garling is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Board of Trustees of Facing History and Ourselves. In addition she serves on the Chicago Advisory Board of this educational and professional development organization for teachers. Facing History engages students in history and ethical decision-making through classroom strategies, content and lessons for middle and high school students.
Jill graduated from the University of Michigan in 1980 with a Bachelors of Business degree. She holds a Masters of Management (1984) from the Kellogg School of Management and a Masters in Marital and Family Therapy (2004) from the Family Institute of Northwestern University.
Jill currently provides leadership coaching to nonprofit professionals. As such, she combines her experience as an entrepreneur, consumer products marketer and strategic marketing consultant with her knowledge and training in interpersonal relationships, organizational development and systems theory.
