Jill M. Garling

Treasurer; Governance, Operations, Finance & Audit Committee Chair

Jill Garling is an active participant in civic life in Chicago, investing her time in education, human rights and arts initiatives at the city and national level.

Jill serves on the Executive, Governance and Development Committees of the International Board of Directors of Facing History and Ourselves and is a member of the Chicago Advisory Board. Facing History uses lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to bigotry and hate. Jill is also engaged with Teach For America in Chicago.

Jill serves on the Board of the Joffrey Ballet and is co-chair of the Board Committee of the Joffrey Academy of Dance.

Jill graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s of Business degree. She holds a Master’s of Management from the Kellogg School of Management and a Master’s in Marital and Family Therapy from the Family Institute of Northwestern University.

Jill currently provides leadership coaching to nonprofit professionals. As such, she combines her experience as an entrepreneur and marketer with her knowledge and training in organizational development and systems theory.
