Investing so that students benefit from strong school leaders citywide
End of Year Report
The Fund served 170 principals in 246 schools and developed 145 aspiring principals, who impacted 130,000 students in the 2021-22 school year. In this report, we reflect back on the challenges and successes of the year – including the ongoing impact of COVID-19 learning disruptions – and preview how these lessons learned will inform our work in the 2022-23 school year.

2022 PRINCIPAL APPRECIATION
2022 marks the seventh year of Chicago’s citywide Principal Appreciation Campaign, through which we joined forces with school communities, city officials, and corporate leaders to lift up the great work of our hardworking school leaders. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Connecting Champions.” Chicago’s school leaders demonstrated resilient leadership, determination, and creativity as they supported their students and school communities through two years of educational disruptions brought on by the pandemic. Now, we want to celebrate them and help them forge connections with your colleagues across the city.
Principal Appreciation Events
During the month of October, we will invite principals out to enjoy one another’s company at two Chicago professional sports games, a principal happy hour, and a storytelling event at the Museum of Science and Industry.
