Summer Design Program
In 2013, The Fund launched The Summer Design Program (SDP), professional development experience designed to provide principal-led educator teams in Chicago with the time, space and expertise to find innovative new solutions to long-standing challenges in their schools.
Over the last five years, more than 200 educator teams have participated in the SDP, impacting 110,000 students. SDP school teams include educators from the district and charter communities, and serve K-12 students across the city.
In this report, we describe the ways in which SDP has evolved since its inception, profile the expert partners school teams have worked with through the program, highlight promising innovations stemming from SDP, and demonstrate the program's impact on Chicago's public schools.
