Chicago Public Schools Working Groups

Starting in August 2015, The Fund supported the activities of three Working Groups, called together by the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) CEO and Chief Education Officer to accelerate progress and improve school quality. These groups were given the following charges:

• Principal Quality Working Group: developing schools leaders and offering support and professional development.
• High School Working Group: developing a model-agnostic plan for a quality high school within three miles of every home in Chicago.
• Support for Schools Working Group: improving Central Office supports and programs to better align with the needs of schools.

Each group consists of education, civic and business leaders, and is expected to provide a final report to the CEO and Chief Education Officer in late 2015 or early 2016.  Additional detail about these groups is available from CPS.
