Fund Fellows/Education Pioneers
Fund Fellows recruited exceptional talent from the nation’s most prestigious graduate business and public policy schools to work in management roles at the central or network Chicago Public Schools offices. Large urban districts face significant and perpetual challenges identifying and recruiting talent for these roles. The Fund successfully exited this investment in 2010, as Education Pioneers absorbed this responsibility for Chicago. Education Pioneers exists to identify, train, connect, and inspire a new generation of leaders dedicated to transforming education systems so that all students receive a quality education.
Impact
- More than 25 graduate students participated in the program under Fund leadership.
- Around 15 percent of these Fellows remain in citywide leadership roles today.
- In 2010, the program was transitioned to Education Pioneers, an organization that places dozens of fellows annually in Chicago; 77 percent of Education Pioneers Alumni continue to work full-time in the field of education.
