Teach for America-Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal Pipeline Program
This principal pipeline program is a unique collaboration between Teach For America (TFA), the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) and Chicago Public Schools (CPS). TFA alumni who demonstrated significant student achievement gains in their classrooms, and who taught for at least four years, are eligible to apply. The pipeline is a two-year program, with the first year taking place in the School Leadership Program at HGSE and the second year in a Chicago-based residency.
The Fund made the seed investment in TFA’s program in 2007. Today, it is one of ten in the Chicago Leadership Collaborative (CLC).
The CLC is a unique partnership between CPS and leading principal development programs. It provides the District with unprecedented capacity to develop, attract and retain high-performing principals from internal and external sources, making Chicago a “destination of choice” for aspiring urban school leaders.
