Sheri B. Hawkins

Sheri Barker Hawkins is an executive vice president with Northern Trust Asset Management and serves on the management team as head of Investment Platform Services. She is responsible for investment governance for over $1 trillion in assets under management and leads four of the firm’s investment teams, including its Sustainable Investing and Stewardship efforts.

Sheri began her career in the investment industry as a Northern Trust equity portfolio manager before moving on to hold business management leadership roles spanning several functional disciplines. Most recently, she served as global head of strategic products, where under her leadership Northern Trust ignited new growth of its liquidity product offering and expanded its ESG product suite. Other leadership roles have included chief financial officer of asset management and chief administrative officer of investments. Her leadership journey began as head of tax advantaged equities where she scaled an investment team to design and manage customized tax-sensitive solutions for ultrahigh net worth and institutional investors as assets under management tripled.

Sheri joined Northern Trust in 1992 in the firm’s management development program. She received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in financial markets and trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She is a CFA® charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute, and serves on the board of directors of the CFA Society of Chicago. Sheri is also a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow and serves on the board of trustees for children and family services leader, Brightpoint (formerly Children’s Home and Aid Society). She resides in Evanston, Illinois, with her husband and two children.
