Lisa Wiersma
Lisa Wiersma has served as the Executive Director of the IMC Chicago Charitable Foundation, a private Foundation associated with IMC Trading, since 2011. The Foundation’s mission is to support opportunities for young people in Chicago to reach their fullest potential. Lisa oversees grantmaking in three priority areas: (1) experiential learning (2) schools and systems and (3) early childhood, as well as community grants and the IMC employee engagement program. She also directs IMC’s long-term partnership with Room to Read, a leader in global literacy. The Foundation started by providing support directly to schools and school leaders within Chicago Public Schools, and in ten years has funded projects that span the range from individual classroom needs, to multi-year after-school programming, to a full schoolyard renovation. Lisa currently serves on the Board of Teachers Supporting Teachers, a Chicago-based teacher leadership organization. Lisa served as the Director of Partnerships at the Chicago Public Schools from 2007-2009, and prior to that was an executive with Tribune Company. She has an A.B. from Dartmouth College and a Masters in Communication Management from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California.
