Fund 4 Launch Featured in edSurge

edSurge logo2014, YEAR OF THE PRINCIPAL: The Chicago Public Education Fund(CPEF) announced a new $20 million fund to improve principal quality over the next five year. High priorities include training and retaining school leaders, as well as equipping them with the tools and skills to implement blended learning school models. Heather Anichini, CEO of CPEF tells EdSurge that “there is a growing number of high performing principals, but the number of principals prepared to lead 21st century schools –schools of the future–needs to be increased.”

So far, the CPEF has engaged principals in the design thinking process to identify problems, brainstorm solutions and build the tools to help. Tools they have funded across the network of 16 schools include New Classrooms.
