National Center on Time & Learning
As Chicago Public Schools (CPS) developed and began the roll-out of its Full School Day Initiative in the second half of 2011, The Fund worked with The National Center on Time & Learning (NCTL) to develop a comprehensive plan for support. NCTL developed and led professional development sessions; provided strategic guidance, expert consulting, and materials to the CPS leadership team; and conducted a review of the initial implementation of the Full School Day at the 13 Pioneer Schools. This work provided a valuable support to CPS during this initial implementation period, and it helped identify practices that facilitated the district-wide rollout of the Full School Day during the 2012-2013 school year.
Impact
- Successful implementation of Full School Day in Pioneer Schools helped the successful systemwide rollout in 2012-2013.
