Ashton Yurk

As a senior associate on the data and strategy team, Ashton is responsible for using data to ensure it is leveraged effectively and efficiently to support The Fund’s mission: improving Chicago’s public schools by investing in the talented leaders who run them.

Before joining The Fund, Ashton completed two years of AmeriCorps service with City Year Chicago, working in schools on Chicago’s South Side. He served in a fourth grade classroom as a mentor, tutor, and social-emotional near-peer, delivering instruction in English language arts and math. In his second year, he took on the team leader role, supporting new AmeriCorps members in their first year of service. Ashton remains actively engaged with City Year Chicago as a board member on their Associate Board.

Ashton graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in Italian. He also holds a master’s degree in education policy from American University.

In his free time, Ashton enjoys trying new restaurants across Chicago, reading a good book, and going to the movie theater at least once a week.
