Chris LeSuer
As Manager of Policy, Chris collaborates with the Fund’s partners to develop and pass policy proposals that will equip school leaders to make positive changes in the lives of Chicago students.
Chris began his career as an educator in his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania, before moving to Texas to concentrate on education policy. Immediately prior to joining The Fund, he spent seven years in the Texas Legislature, staffing the Vice Chair of the Senate Education Committee in a succession of roles, culminating in the position of Legislative Director.
Chris holds a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Grove City College. He uses his experiences in both education and policymaking to inform his work with the Fund and its partners.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys reading, visiting the Art Institute of Chicago, participating in bar trivia, and watching movies with his partner and their cat.
