SDP 2016 Design-Thinking Kickoff

March 23, 2016

Over the weekend, The Fund launched the Summer Design Program 2016 (SDP 2016), where 115 educators from 44 principal-led schools teams participated in the Design-Thinking Kickoff at 1871. The school teams began designing innovations to improve the use of time, talent and technology at their schools. The Fund’s program partners – LEAP Innovations, the National SAM Innovation Project and Sensible Innovation—kicked off the day by facilitating breakout session for their SDP 2016 cohorts.

Greater Good Studio, a Chicago-based design-research firm, closed out the day with an interactive design-thinking workshop to help guide the innovation. Following the Design-Thinking Kickoff, each school team will work with their program partner to design and implement an innovation over the next few months and into next school year.
