Student-Centered Solutions Through Distributed Leadership

This report, Student-Centered Solutions Through Distributed Leadership: Stories from our 2022 Summer Design Program, highlights promising practices implemented by five school teams across Chicago. In partnership with The Chicago Public Education Fund (The Fund) and Chicago Public Schools, these teams worked to revitalize the summer school experience of their students. 

These features showcase how school leaders leveraged distributed leadership to reimagine learning and increase engagement for a priority group of students. Their summer programs focused on socio-emotional well-being, literacy, math skills, and more—with lasting impacts on their students, schools, and communities.

The Fund continues supporting this school-based problem-solving through programs like our 2023-24 Summer Design Program. By bringing school leaders together to collaborate, iterate, and share their work and impact, we provide insights in support of strong school leadership.
